Ilda Clippers Dive Team

The ILDA Dive Team was co-Division 7 Champs for the 2006 season. We moved to Division 5 for the 2007 season and finished in third place (out of five teams). We had 31 registered divers (majority were in the Freshmen girls age group).

Beginning in 1961, NVSL-Dive began sponsoring dive team competitions throughout Northern Virginia. NVSL-Dive is currently composed of 45 teams that are divided into eight divisions. The teams compete weekly over the course of a five-week season, and a team is named the division champion. The league then hosts the Individual Division Championship and an Individual All-Star Championship.

Divers are divided by gender into four age categories: Freshmen (10 and younger), Juniors (11-12), Intermediates (13-14), and Seniors (15 and older). The category is determined by the diver's age on June 1 of each year.

The ILDA Dive Team Rep is Kevin Grottle. The coaches last season were Michele White, Trevor Michalak, and Heather Michalak. Michele dives for Virginia Tech and Trevor dives for Woodson High School.
